Ramya’s Journey to Recovery and Financial Stability
Ramya, a young woman who had lost contact with HOPES’s outreach program for nearly a year, was identified by our outreach worker. At the time of this visit, Ramya was bedridden and in a fragile state. Recognizing her critical condition, the outreach worker counselled her and referred her to the ART center for essential medical care. Understanding the importance of holistic recovery, the worker also mobilized nutrition support for her, ensuring she received the necessary dietary support to regain her strength. With consistent care and encouragement from the HOPES team, Ramya’s health gradually improved. Over time, Ramya’s condition stabilized and she was able to resume her daily routine. In a significant step toward reclaiming her life, HOPES successfully referred her to a private job. This opportunity not only provided her with financial independence but also restored her confidence and sense of purpose.
At present, Ramya is doing well, both physically and emotionally. Her journey from being bedridden to becoming self-reliant is a testament to the impact of HOPES’s outreach efforts. Ramya’s story highlights the importance of continuous support and the positive outcomes that can be achieved when individuals are given the care and resources they need to rebuild their lives.

Divya’s Path to a Brighter Future
Divya, a 9-year-old girl from Hyderabad, has been receiving ART treatment to manage her health. Her journey took a positive turn when an outreach worker from HOPES connected with her and her family. The worker provided essential counselling, offering emotional support and guidance to help them navigate their challenges. Recognizing the importance of a holistic approach to care, the outreach worker also referred Divya to a nutrition support program run by another NGO. This program ensured that she received the necessary nutritional care to support her treatment. Additionally, Divya was connected with an education support initiative, allowing her to continue her studies without interruption. With this combined support, Divya’s health stabilized and she is thriving in her education. Her family, once burdened with concerns about her future, is now living happily, knowing that both her health and education are well taken care of.
Divya’s case is a powerful example of how comprehensive support, covering medical, nutritional and educational needs, can transform the lives of young children and their families affected with HIV. With sustained care and opportunities, Divya is on a path toward a bright and hopeful future.
